Accessibility

The Florida Department of Health (FLDOH) is committed to making its Web sites accessible to all visitors and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508 accessibility standards. Accessible Web design provides benefits to individuals using assistive technology, as well as providing benefits to users with text-based browsers, low-end processors, slow modem connections, or users who do not have state-of-the-art computer equipment. Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act establishes requirements for electronic and information technology developed, maintained, procured, or used by the Federal government. Section 508 requires Federal electronic and information technology to be accessible to all people with disabilities, including employees and members of the public. The Florida Department of Health has included several features designed to improve accessibility.
